Nature Photo Walks
A place for nature photographers to share their photography knowledge, meet like-minded people, and learn about nature photography. Walks will be offered around county parks, greenways, and waterways once a month. We'll be practicing Slow Photography Movement techniques Nature First principles and raising awareness about the importance of our natural areas. Most nature Photo Walks will be free with a suggested donation of $5-10 cash.

June Nature Photo Walk
During the hike along the Gateway Trai, Kings Mountain, NC, part of the Carolina Thread Trail, and North Carolina Rail Trails, we’ll experiment with a photo composition card (a.k.a. “An artist view catcher”). What’s a composition card/view catcher you ask? Well, it’s a tool used to frame your image without using your camera.
As we hike, we’ll discuss the slow photography movement and creating quality images over quantity. After a short discussion of what we learned, we will break into small groups to practice.
Composition cards will be available to use for the walk. If you want to keep yours, they can be purchased the day of for $5 cash.
